How accurate is the GPS in the Intermec CN3?
We did a recent test in our parking lot by capturing GPS coordinates from an Intermec CN3, sending them to a database via Switchboard. We then plotted the coordinates onto a Google Earth map, see below.
The red dots are the postions where the GPS data was captured, the yellow pins represent the GPS locations. WAAS improved the CN3s accuracy, except for the fix near the building, where I believe that the CN3 couldn't see the WAAS satellite.
WAAS does cause the GPS to consume more power, however. I tested the CN3 with the GPS and WAAS on and got 12 1/2 continuous hours of use from an extended battery.
